Media Advisory: State Board of Education to Adopt Textbooks

The Indiana State Board of Education will adopt Science and Health textbooks at its Oct. 6, 2010 meeting. The State of Indiana Textbook Adoption Committee will present adoption recommendations to the board based on comments gathered during the public review period, from July 2 through Sept. 2, 2010, at regional public textbook review sites.

Textbooks will be adopted for use in schools for a six-year cycle, beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, in the following subject areas:

Science
Grades 1-8
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Earth and Space Science
Integrated Chemistry-Physics

Health
Grades 1-8
Advanced Health and Wellness
Current Health Issues
